First, brush away any dirt and dust using a soft brush, such as a toothbrush or a soft scrub brush. Gently brush the cowhide leather to remove any surface impurities before cleaning. Next, dip a clean cloth into a soapy solution, squeezing out any excess water. Working in small sections, gently scrub the leather in a circular motion. Then, dip a clean, dry cloth into a bowl of warm water, squeezing out any excess, and use it to gently wipe the section clean.

Place the leather in a well-ventilated area to air dry. Once dry, dip a clean cloth into a leather conditioner and rub a light coating over the entire surface of the leather. This will help maintain the water-resistant properties of the hat.
